Indivisible Independence

The right to life, liberty, and

It starts when we are children, and we want independence from our parents. We want the freedom from their rules and restrictions to do as we please. Though most rules are set in place for our protection, such as no jumping off a roof into a pool, it is still in our nature to defy the guidance, because we want complete control over ourselves. We do not want anyone telling us what we can and cannot do to or for ourselves. It is our life, not anyone else's, right? This becomes especially important to us as we grow up and move out of our parents' home. We become independent adults who now need to fend for ourselves. Sometimes, once we move out, we look back and wish we still had the security and protection our parents provided. That said, life experiences are what make us stronger and more likely to succeed on our own. Looking back at 1776, our nation realized that we were our own entity. We no longer wanted to be ruled and restricted by the leaders on a whole other land across a vast ocean. Why should we allow someone in another world tell us how we should run ours? It would be like letting your neighbors tell you how you should live inside your own home. This enlightenment led to a pivotal point in our country's history. Our declaration of independence from England. We became The United States of America, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Sadly, today our country is tearing itself apart. The government is beginning to encroach on our rights, and it seems there is no way to stop them. Further, you have extremists that believe the government is right in their actions, making it so much harder to maintain true freedom and liberty. The military oath is a testament to protecting our country from both foreign and domestic enemies. The true patriots of our country take this promise to heart, whether they were in the military or not. That does not make a difference in their beliefs and convictions. Now, many patriots believe the government is the worst and most dangerous domestic enemy. History repeats itself, and we are beginning to see it in current events. Between the lockdown, mandates, and red flag laws, we feel the walls of tyranny closing in on us. Texas is tired of the tightening grip and is starting to move in the direction we did in 1776, where they are expecting to separate from the nation and become an independent nation of their own. The problem with rules and restrictions is that the more you follow them, the more empowered the leaders feel to make more. It becomes a situation of seeing how far the powers can reach before a rebellion begins. It is a dangerous, slippery slope that will inevitably end in tragedy. In 1776, the slope ended in a battle never forgotten. A battle we won, in which we earned our independence from a tyrannical ruler. Will this fate befall us again on our own land this time? Only time will tell. In the meantime, tonight as you watch the rocket's red glare, and the bombs bursting in air, remember the proof through the night that our flag is still there. Our star spangled banner yet waves. It will continue to do so, as long as we continue to fight for our freedom. It is a never ending battle, but it is every bit worth the fight. We cannot continue to let our rights be taken, otherwise we will no longer be the land of the free, nor the home of the brave. Instead, we will be the land of the enslaved and home of the cowards. Everything our forefathers fought for will be in vain. Let us band together to protect our right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
